(Garden of Earthly Delights by Hieronymus Bosch)

Gargantua is a set of 24 canons and fugues based on random variations of the Musical Offering by J.S. Bach. The piece is scored for string orchestra, piano and strings, solo piano and solo organ. Each section lasts about an hour for a total performance time of 24 hours.

The time of day that you enter the site will determine which section
starts, then the piece will play continuously through all 24 sections.

Note: the last section (11:00 - 12:00 midnight) is a sampler
of all 23 preceding sections... two to three minutes of each.

Special thanks to Peter Taussig for inspiring the work
and to Terry Mills for web adaptation.
